Do you need
transportation?
Bartow County Transit is the lead agency and primary provider of human
services and general public transportation service in Bartow County. If
you need transportation, we may be able to take you to medical
appointments, shopping, senior center, work and other places. Bartow
County has established routes through the county.
Who can ride Bartow County Transit?
Anyone requiring non-emergency transportation is eligible to ride
Bartow Transit. Bartow County Transit system does no emergency medical
transportation.
How do you ride Bartow Transit?
To request a ride call 770-387-5165 Monday through Friday between 8:00
am and 4:30 pm. Requests for transportation must be made 48 hours in
advance. If you want to ride on Monday your request must be made on Friday
before 4:00 pm. Service is on first come – first serve basis. Out of
county trips must be scheduled at least one (1) week in advance of the
trip. If appointments are made less than a week in advance they will be
taken on a space available basis.
What information do I need?
You must be prepared to give the dispatcher the following information:
Your name, address, telephone number
Date and time of your appointment
Destination with name of doctor and phone number
How much does it cost to ride?
For local transportation, the general public is charged $1.00 per boarding
with a round trip of $2.00. Cost for out-of-county trips are more
depending on your destination. On Tuesday cost for senior citizens will be
.50 per boarding, with a round trip of $1.00.
When should I be ready?
You should be ready no later than thirty (30) minutes before your
scheduled pick-up time. You should wait at a main entrance or curbside if
weather permits. The driver will wait five minutes for you to board.
When is Bartow County Transit system closed?
Bartow County Transit System follows the Bartow County Government
holiday schedule.
What if I have to cancel my ride?
If you need to cancel your ride, you must notify the Bartow County
Transit office as soon as possible, at least 1 hour before your scheduled
ride. If it is less than 1 hour, you could still be charged.
What happens if I fail to cancel my ride?
If a Bartow County Transit van arrives to pick you up and you are not
home or you cancel your ride when they arrive you will be a NO-SHOW. If
you have three (3) NO-SHOWS, services will be discontinued.

The aim of Bartow Transit is to serve the community with dignity, honor
and gratitude.
All drivers are CPR certified and PASS certified. Our drivers undergo
regular defensive training and have received numerous Bartow County Safety
Awards.
