America Recycles Day

Keep Bartow Beautiful recognizes America Recycles Day annually on November 15. Events include participation in the Bartow Business Expo, school recycling contests, recycling pledges, educational displays, and school tours. Adopt-a-Road groups that participate in a clean-up, recycle their contents, and file reports during October or November with Keep Bartow Beautiful will receive a gift, while supplies last.

The theme for Bartow County’s America Recycles Day Events-2001 is “Follow the Recycled Road.” It doesn’t take a wizard to recycle—in fact, it is easy to recycle at home, at work, or even as you travel. Just be smart, and give recycling a start!

The theme for Bartow County’s America Recycles Day Events-2002 is “Rally Round Recycling.” Recycling is the patriotic thing to do. In fact, civic-minded Americans have been recycling since World War II, to help the war effort. The current goal is to recycle at least 25% of Georgia’s waste stream.

The theme for Bartow County’s America Recycles Day Events-2003 is “Round the Bases for Recycling.” Many folks know the three R’s-Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. But you haven’t tagged home plate until you also BUY Recycled. Many folks forget that there must be a market for recycled content products. So be sure to buy recycled content office products, paper goods, aluminum cans, home building products, etc. They are durable, high quality and cost-competitive, plus they save natural resources.
