Clarence Brown Conference Center
Bartow County and each of its municipalities agreed to jointly fund, the construction of a 45,000 square foot state-of- the- art civic center utilizing $20 million of the 2008 SPLOST proceeds. The Clarence Brown Conference Center is located on Georgia Highway 20 just west of I-75, across from Georgia Highlands College.
The conference center will host a variety of businesses and social functions. The ballroom will accommodate 1400 people in a theater style seating arrangement and approximately 1000 people seated at tables. The design will allow for the space to be set up to host convention and trade shows and will be capable of handling up to 17 different functions simultaneously, from large annual meetings to family gatherings such as birthday parties, wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations.
The grounds will feature a beautifully landscaped outdoor pavilion and an amphitheater, designed to host social, cultural and entertainment events.
The facility was designed with the County’s commitment to environmental stewardship in mind and has received a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) silver certification, making this remarkable addition to Bartow County one of only seven LEED Certified facilities owned by a local government in Georgia.
Administration of the facility will be provided by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau staff. Operational costs of the facility will be jointly funded by the City of Cartersville and Bartow County, utilizing hotel-motel tax revenues.
The facility was designed by the architectural firm of Lyman, Davidson and Dooley, Inc. and constructed by Hogan Construction Group, LLC.
