Each
monument is an aluminum disk set in concrete. Each disk has been set in
a
concrete cylinder, usually set flush with the ground. Or the disk has
been set
in existing concrete, such
as an existing concrete curb, sidewalk or
catch basin.
Every
monument disk
has been stamped with a
small triangle, the center point
in the triangle is the survey point.
TO REACH THE STATION, GO TO THE INTERSECTION OF SR 293 (HOWARD
STREET) AND CHURCH STREET IN KINGSTON, GEORGIA. THEN CONTINUE SOUTH
ON CHURCH STREET APPROXIMATELY 0.1 MILE TO THE INTERSECTION OF
RAILROAD STREET. TURN RIGHT (WEST) ON RAILROAD STREET AND CONTINUE
WEST APPROXIMATELY 0.1 MILE TO THE INTERSECTION OF JOHNSON STREET.
THE MONUMENT IS LOCATED SOUTH AND WEST OF SAID INTERSECTION.
This inspection was
conducted to check current condition of monument and marker.
