Advance Voting is when voters are provided the opportunity to cast their ballot in person prior to Election Day. For most elections, Advance Voting begins on the 4th Monday prior to Election Day and ends at the close of business on the Friday immediately preceding Election Day. During this period the Bartow County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office is open from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The office is also open on the 2nd Saturday prior to Election Day between the hours of 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM and the Cartersville Civic Center is open the last week from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. However, some elections have different schedules, so please check below for the current opportunities to participate in Advance Voting.
If you choose to participate in Advance Voting, here is what to expect. Upon entering the location you will be asked if you would like to vote that day. If you indicate that you would, you will be provided an application to be filled out at that time.
Once you complete the application, you will turn it into one of the workers who staff the location. They will check to make sure that the form was completed in accordance with the law and check your approved photo id. Then your application will be given to a different worker to be entered into the Statewide Voter Registration System.
Once this has been completed you will be issued a Voter Access Card and told that you can vote on the next available voting machine. Once you have completed voting, you will return the Voter Access Card to one of the workers and he or she will provide you with a sticker.
