Section 36-6-60 of the Georgia Code requires that persons who are licensed by the state pursuant to Title 43 must present that state license when applying for an occupational tax certificate. For a complete listing of categories required to be licensed by the State of Georgia, please visit their website at www.sos.ga.gov/plb. You would also contact the Secretary of State's Office for information on forming a corporation. Individuals or entities doing business under a name different from the owner(s) full legal name(s) must complete a Trade Name Filing with the Clerk of Superior Court in the county where the business is principally located. If you incorporate your business with the Secretary of State, registering a corporate name does not control the use of fictitious or trade names, and issuance of a corporate name does not affect the commercial availability of the name
