WATER
& SEWER SERVICE APPLICATIONS

Bartow
County Water Department New Service Applications must be
processed inside our main administrative office
located @ 50
Nelson Street; Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
A Customer Service Representative will be readily available to provide Customers with detailed
information regarding our Water and/or Sewer Systems including
Utility Service Availability; New Service Connection Fees; Water
Meter/Sewer Tap Installation Procedures and
established Billing Policies. Note: New
Water and/or Sewer Service Applicants
must acquire a Water and/or Sewer Service Availability Notification
Statement from the Bartow County Water Department prior to obtaining a
Building Permit from the Bartow County Zoning Department for
establishments that shall be serviced by the Bartow County Water &
Sewer System! These Service Availability Statements are valid
for a term of 180 days. New
Service Applicants must
provide our Customer Service Department with proper identification
and
documentation
including a valid Driver’s License; Social Security Card; and proof of
property ownership, purchase or a Rental/Lease Agreement prior to
processing Water and/or Sewer Utility Service Contracts. New Service
Activation for previously installed water meters and sewer taps
requires a minimum three (3) working days while new watermeter and
sewer tap installations requires an average of seven (7) to ten (10)
working days. New Service Applicants will be notified of their
expected Utility Service Activation Date during initial registration
procedures.
Note: Water Service Customers are responsible for purchasing,
installing and maintaining the waterline connecting their water meter
to their serviced establishment including the installation of a cut-off
valve and pressure reducing valve that
shall be installed on the customer’s side of the water meter. Sewer
Service Customers are responsible for purchasing, installing and
maintaining the sewerline connecting their sewer tap to their serviced
establishment. All water meters and sewer taps are required to be
installed within the County or State Right-of-Way. The
Bartow County Water Department now provides Customers
requesting multiple water meters and/or sewer service taps (3 or more)
the option of placing Advance E-Mail Service Orders @ bcwdcsr@bartowga.org. To
successfully process these Service Orders, Customers must provide our
department with the physical address (or Subdivision/Development name
and lot number), contact person, mailing address, Utility Service(s)
requested and daytime phone number for each potential Service Location.
Note:
Our department requests that Customers submitting Advance E-Mail Water
Meters and/or Sewer Service Orders please type "Advance Utility Service
Request" in the subject section of their email transmissions.
Once Utility Service Availability has been successfully determined,
Service Orders shall be prepared by a Customer Service Representative
and an appointment will be scheduled with the appropriate contact
person for the purposes of acquiring proper identification, obtaining
required signatures, collecting associated Service Fees and issuing
approved Service Contracts. Note: All
Service Orders shall be
processed during regular business hours; Monday - Friday;
8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sign-Up Fees
- Sign-Up Fees are $25.00 (non-refundable service charge) per each
Water and/or Sewer Utility Service Application. Initial Deposits - Initial Deposits are based upon the following Water & Sewer Service Initial Deposit Rate Table:
Initial Service
Fees - The
Initial
Service Fee is
$210.00 for 5/8” x 3/4” Water Meters and
$235.00 for 1” Water Meters. For all Water Meters > 1", the
Initial Service Fee shall be incorporated within the
Installation Cost of the applicable Water Meter.
Tap Fees - Tap Fees are based upon the following Water Meter & Sewer Tap Service Rate Table:

Fees: Readiness-to-Serve
Fees are
comprised of two (2) separate fees for each Utility Service including a
"Water Distribution &
Transmission Fee"
& "Water
Capacity Fee" for Water Service and a "Wastewater
Collection Fee" & "Wastewater
Capacity Fee" for Sewer Service. "Water Distribution &
Transmission Fees" are determined based upon the greater amount of
either: A) $715.00 per Equivalent Dwelling Unit (E.D.U.), equal
to approximately 350 Gallons per Day (G.P.D.) as detailed within the
“Bartow
County Water Department Structural Daily Water Usage Schedule” or B)
The applicable "Water Distribution & Transmission Fee"
indicated within the Water Service Readiness-to-Serve Rate Table
below. "Wastewater Collection Fees" are determined based upon the
greater amount of either: A) $835.00 per Equivalent Dwelling
Unit (E.D.U.) or B) The applicable "Wastewater
Collection Fee" indicated within the Sewer Service
Readiness-to-Serve Rate Table below. "Water & Sewer Capacity Fees"
are determined based upon the greater amount of either: A)
The "Water and Sewer Capacity Fees" indicated within the Water
& Sewer Service Readiness-to-Serve Rate Tables below or B)
The amount calculated when multiplying the number of units by $1,225.00
for Water Service and by $1,500.00 for Sewer Service.
***Note: Water Distribution & Transmission Fees and Wastewater Collection Fees are not applicable to residents that have owned serviceable parcels prior to October 6, 1993 according to the Bartow County Water & Sewer Rate Structure and Readiness-to-Serve Ordinance adopted on December 9, 2005 providing that proof of property ownership is presented during New Service Applicable Procedures. |

TRANSFER-OF-SERVICE

DISCONNECTION-OF-SERVICE
|
Bartow
County Water Department Customers must provide our Customer Service
Department with proper
identification including a valid Driver’s License and/or Social
Security Card in addition to a definitive Service Termination Date upon
submitting a Disconnection-of-Service Order. Customers that apply for
Disconnection-of-Service are billed for Water and/or Sewer Service(s)
from their last Meter Reading Date through their Service Termination
Date. Disconnection-of-Service Requests can either be mailed to: Bartow
County Water Department, P.O. Box 850, Cartersville, Ga
30120-0850, faxed to (770) 387-5173 or emailed to
bcwdcsr@bartowga.org. Note:
Our department requests that Customers submitting
Disconnection-of-Service Requests electronically please type
"Disconnection-of-Service" in the subject section of their email
transmissions. Once Service Disconnection
Procedures have occurred, our Customer Service/Utility
Billing Department promptly credits the Initial Deposit to
this Service Account and mails to the
applicable Customer a Termination Service Utility Bill. If a credit
balance
results from
applying the Initial Deposit
to a previously Serviced Account, the Customer can immediately request
a Refund Check from the Bartow County Water Department that
shall be
mailed within two (2) weeks from the Customer's Refund
Notification Date. |
